School Vision and Values
At Nightingale we strive to make our vision and values a part of our daily life. They are the thread that weaves through our curriculum, the enrichment experiences we give children, our leadership decisions and the daily interactions between members of our community.
School Vision:
At Nightingale we promote an ethos that encourages children to be resilient. We strive for educational excellence to ensure our children are equipped with the skills to become life-long learners, to begin their journey beyond Nightingale and to shape the society in which we live.
School Values:
At Nightingale, we have the courage to try new things, face challenges and do the right thing, even when it feels hard.
“I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.” Nelson Mandela
We have compassion for others we encounter in our school, our local community and those beyond our immediate experience.
“A single act of kindness throws out roots in all directions, and the roots spring up and make new trees.” Amelia Earhart
We are curious; we ask questions, solve challenges and want to find out more about our world.
“Remember to look up at the stars, not down at your feet. Try to make sense of what you see and wonder about what makes the universe exist. Be curious.” Stephen Hawking
We are committed to our school community. We always do our best to a make a positive contribution to our own development, school life and the school community.
"Commitment is what turns a promise into reality." Abraham Lincoln
We promote and engage in a wide range of creative opportunities and take a creative approach to thinking and learning in our school.
"You can't use up creativity. The more you use, the more you have." Maya Angelou
